The ideal Ragdoll is a well-balanced cat, with
no extreme features. Generally a large breed with a long, firm,
muscular body, altered Ragdoll males may reach up to 20 pounds (females
may be proportionally smaller than males). Ragdolls are known for
their loving natures and laid-back attitudes.
The Ragdoll has a medium to long coat, which is plush, silky and
non-matting in texture. The Ragdoll is a pointed breed in four colors:
seal, chocolate, blue and lilac.
Each of the Ragdoll colors also comes in three patterns: color point,
mitted and bi-color. The patterns are distinguished by the varying
amounts of white allowed.
Because the Ragdoll is generally considered a slow-maturing breed,
full coat color is not achieved until the cat is around two years
old. Full size and weight is generally not achieved until around
four years of age. CFA Breed Profile.
